Privacy policy

Short version: we collect as little as possible, we never ask for card numbers or passport details, and you can have anything we hold deleted.

Last updated: 5 September 2026

What we collect

Compatibility reports, if you choose to submit one: card network, card type, issuing bank, country of issue, app, QR type, and whether the payment succeeded. That is the entire set.

Server logs: standard web server records such as IP address, requested page, user agent, and timestamp. These are used to keep the site working and to understand aggregate traffic.

What we never collect

  • Names or email addresses, unless you email us directly.
  • Card numbers, expiry dates, or CVV codes. The report form has no field for any of them.
  • Passport numbers or images of travel documents.
  • Account logins for Alipay, WeChat, or any payment service.

Cookies and analytics

We aim to run without advertising or tracking cookies. If we add analytics, it will be configured to avoid cross-site tracking, and this page will be updated before it goes live.

Some outbound links are affiliate links. If you click through and buy something, the merchant may set a cookie to attribute the sale and we may earn a commission. We never see your payment details — that transaction happens entirely on the merchant's site under their own privacy policy.

Third parties

Outbound links go to services such as eSIM providers, booking platforms, and app stores. Once you leave this site, their policies apply, not ours.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold, and to object to processing. Because we do not require an account, in most cases we hold nothing identifiable.

To make a request, or to ask us to remove a compatibility submission, get in touch. We will act on deletion requests without requiring you to explain why.

Data retention

Compatibility submissions are retained in aggregate form because the value of the database is its history. Individual records contain no identifiers, so they cannot be traced back to a person.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top changes and the nature of the change will be described here.
